Treehouse a much underrated film

Image
My second review is of the little known film Treehouse, now when I saw this film cover I and I think many others were drawn to this film, expecting maybe some kind of supernatural element, a picture of kids hanging from a tree next to a treehouse with a sign nearby saying no kids allowed.
Yes I was curious so I paid my £3.00 and got home to watch it.
Yes it wasn't what I expected at all, but a very tightly directed thriller. With a survivor element,to strange things in the woods, once again I'm not going to give key plot points,or spoilers, but I was impressed once again. A lot of reviews on various sites do slag off this movie, comparing it to a second rate chainsaw wannabe film, but I think this film deserves more credit than that.

Staring Dana Melanie, and a very good performance from Jonathan Michael Trautmann, and Directed by Michael Bartlett. Please give this film a try, and if two kids go missing, and a local sheriff puts on a late night curfew don't break it and go…

Open Grave a really great, but different take on a Zombie pandemic

Image
This film I saw released the end of 2014, within a month it was reduced to just £3.00 in my local supermarket. What can I say about this film, apart from WOW, I  was expecting a Zombie Apocalypse type movie, a walking dead clone. What we did get was a very clever thoughtful film about a massive pandemic. With a general sense of panic, paranoia. I'm not going to give any plot spoilers as it wouldn't be fair to do so. We get a genuine almost medical point of view about the pandemic, similar in logic to Stephen Soderbergh Contagion. I cannot stress how good this film is, a realistic film with a realistic ending.Staring an on par performace from Sharlto Copley, can this guy not make a bad film, also staring Erin Richards, Thomas Kretschmann
It was directed by Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego who is known previously as the director of the found footage movie Apollo 18.

Coming soon my reviews of the lower end of DVD film releases

Image
Hi I would like to try on this blog to review, and blog most DVD and bluray releases, but to also give credit to the lower end releases each week we see released. Yes we all know about the 50 Shades Of Grey, Jupiter Assending, The second Best Marigold Hotel to name a few.
How about we give chance to the other releases, you know the ones, they are usually priced cheaper than any other release, and within a few weeks drop down to just pounds, or Dollars in single figures.
I like to call them the bargain basement releases, yes I know they are the lower end of any film scale, and yes they are not massive Hollywood blockbusters. Every now and then you can watch or a buy a film and think that film was actually good, I know a lot are turkeys, but every now and then a few turn out to be not just coal, but some turn out to be nuggets of value, and you would want to keep.I have actually contacted a few of the lower production film releases companies  to see if they would send me sometimes films to …

BACK TO THE FUTURE WILL NOT EVER BE REMADE

Image
It comes  today with great news that Robert Zemeckis says as long as he is still alive he would never sell the rights to this great movie. Fans all round the world rejoiced at the news that no reboot will happen with this film.
Robert Zemeckis even quoted "over my dead body".the news will come as devastating news to movie studio bosses, but a celebration to all fans of this movie.
As Robert Zemeckis and His producing partner Bob Gale own the rights to this movie made with Amblin Entertainment and Universal Studios in 1984, only these two men can decide what happens to the film, and both have said that no studio will get it,whilst they are both alive, and even said they would continue to fight with there estates after they have gone, the 63 year old director said.
We all know this film could not be made without the incredible talent of Michael J Fox who made this role his, unfortunately who got struck down with Parkinson's Disease, and has scaled back his acting roles sin…

If your a resident in the U.K. like myself the hype around this actor has been unbelievable, Born in Derbyshire East Midlands at the ripe old age of 24 LOL  he has been getting a lot of attention recently. Started off playing a troubled teen in the U.K T.V series called skins.
He even starred in the Director debut of Angelina Jolie's Unbroken 2014 a world war 2 story about survival, resilience, redemption, or so the tag line on film poster says.
The Actor I'm talking about is Jack O'Connell. I saw these films on offer at my local supermarket, or the American equivalent Wallmart at a bargain price and I had to see what all the hype was all about.
One is called Starred Up, a prison drama based in a tough prison, when a troubled teen gets sentenced to not a young offenders institution, but to an adult prison, purely on his behaviour, and constance rule breaking, and violent behaviour. Now in all honesty I have not watched this one yet, but I did sit down to watch '71. So …

Fifty Shades Of Grey

Hi got round to getting this today, and very pleased to actually own it with a shop exclusive. We get very few Exclusives here in the U.K. like Wallmart exclusives or Bestbuy so very happy today. Thought my wife would be happy, as she has read all the books in the trilogy and even owns a copy of Grey. She said I only brought it as it was rude, and for the so called explicit scenes. Dosen't she know that I a film buff, and reviewer and will only look at it abjectively. Oh well cannot win sometimes, but I will put on my fair, and honest review of this film.
Thanks for reading and see u soon.
